Adults (LTCIs). This article aimed to report the experience of the Older Adults’ Health Care

an experience report based on a literature review, involving activities planned and

implemented through participatory methodologies, including discussion groups, workshops,
games, cognitive stimulation activities, self-care sessions, and recreational activities. Results:
Greater participation of older adults in the activities was observed, along with strengthened
social interaction, encouragement of self-care, improved self-esteem, memory development,
and stronger bonds between residents and students. In addition to the benefits for the older
adults, the experience contributed to the academic training of the nursing students by
promoting the integration of theory and practice and the development of competencies related
to humanized care. Conclusion: The experience demonstrated that health education activities
in Long-Term Care Institutions for Older Adults (LTCIs) constitute an important strategy for
health promotion, disease prevention, and improving the quality of life of older adults, while
also strengthening the academic education of future nursing professionals.
