Adolescence is defined as a biopsychosocial period that, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), encompasses the second decade of life, that is, from 10 to 19 years, 11 months, and 29 days, characterizing it as a transitional period marked by intense physical, emotional, and social changes. These changes often make young people more susceptible to psychological disorders, particularly anxiety and depression. Understood as a natural adaptation reaction, anxiety is described as an emotion directed towards potentially adverse future events. However, when this condition persists over a long period and affects an individual's ability to handle everyday situations, it can be characterized as a syndrome, which may compromise the quality of life and healthy development of adolescents. In this context, this qualitative and descriptive study evaluated the impacts of regular physical activity on adolescents' anxiety levels through an integrative literature review, using data from SciELO and LILACS between 2014 and 2024. Initially, 378 studies were found, of which only 5 met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results highlight that physical activity plays a crucial role in improving mental health, reinforcing its importance as a preventive and complementary intervention to conventional health treatments. Therefore, the regular practice of physical activity stands out as an effective approach for reducing anxiety symptoms and promoting overall well-being, as it provides both physical and psychological benefits.
