HEALTH EDUCATION USING A BOOKLET ON BREASTFEEDING GUIDELINES, AN EXPERIENCE REPORT.

Introduction: Breastfeeding has been widely studied and recognized due to its benefits to child health. It is a physiological, natural process in a woman's body that consists of the production of milk by the mammary glands that occurs as soon as the body understands that the baby has been born and needs to be nourished. It provides several benefits to the mother and baby, all breast milk produces exactly the nutrients, vitamins, fats, antibodies, proteins and minerals necessary for the baby's growth and development, providing complete nutrition. The objective of this article is to present an experience report about the creation of a breastfeeding care booklet. Methodology: The methodology adopted involved stages of planning, development and execution of pedagogical and creative activities that culminated in the preparation of educational material through a qualitative, descriptive approach and experience report. Results and discussions: The results of the preparation of this manual were diverse and impactful. First, the research and writing process allowed the students to deepen their knowledge about breastfeeding, strengthening their theoretical and practical training, as well as contributing to mothers, where they can find material with valuable knowledge for their maternal experiences and about something as important as feeding their children. Conclusion: It is concluded that the work carried out is a great contribution to the knowledge of pregnant and postpartum women, always highlighting the importance of breastfeeding and its benefits that many are unaware of. We hope that with this collaboration, breastfeeding will grow and become a priority for mothers.
